Photo de famille Bayer WCA post table ronde au Mali

On June 21, 2023, a round table organized by Bayer West-Central Africa was held at the Hôtel Olympe in Bamako, Mali. The aim was to present solutions for improving and diversifying the incomes of cotton and maize growers, and to strengthen the exchange framework between Bayer WCA and local partners.

Bayer West-Central Africa covers a total of 25 countries in the West and Central African region. In each of these regions, activities are based on Bayer's vision: "Health for All, Hunger for None". From this vision flows the responsibility to provide quality products and services for people and the environment.

The round table held on June 21 was a real way out of the tunnel for Malian producers, who have seen their production dwindle (from 770,000 tonnes to 390,000 tonnes. Source: Ecofin) as a result of the massive jassid attack and ECOWAS restrictions following the Malian crisis. It provided an opportunity to learn more about the major problems faced by our partners, and then to propose Bayer's solutions, namely Belt Expert, Dekalb and RoundUp.

The presence of the Malian Ministry of Agriculture, cotton growers and players in the maize, rice and market gardening sectors showed the interest shown in the issue and the solutions proposed by Bayer WCA.

Corn being one of Mali's major crops, a presentation of Dekalb hybrid seeds was also given, arousing particular interest among participants. According to many of the participants, Dekalb is a product that guarantees food security in Mali, improving producers' incomes by providing them with better yields and enabling them to diversify their sources of income.
