Change of management in the local Bayer businesses – Pharma, Consumer Health and Crop Science

Gustavo Gomez, Thorsten Hein and Christoph Breitenstroeter are assuming responsibility for the local Bayer businesses in Switzerland.
Gustavo Gomez – new Country Division Head Consumer Health Switzerland
Gustavo Gomez took on his role as Head of the Swiss Consumer Health business on July 1, 2021, succeeding George Fatouros who is now working at Bayer UK. Gustavo Gomez was born in the Dominican Republic, holds an MBA and was previously Bayer Consumer Health Commercial Lead Austria, where he also helped to set up the Germany/Austria cluster. Prior to this, he worked as the Regional Director for Customer Excellence APAC.
Thorsten Hein – new Country Division Head Pharma Switzerland
Thorsten Hein took over his role as Head of the Swiss Pharma business on September 1, 2021, from Florian Ibe, who has assumed a global function in the Bayer group. Thorsten Hein was born in Germany, has a degree in Sinology and Political Science and was previously Division Head of the Finland/Baltic States cluster and Managing Director of Bayer Baltic States. Prior to this, he was Head of Marketing at Bayer Pharma in China.
Christoph Breitenstroeter – new Country Commercial Lead Crop Science Switzerland
Christoph Breitenstroeter will assume his role as the Head of the Swiss Crop Science business as of October 1, 2021, taking over from Niklaus Knuchel who will retire after 32 years of service at the end of 2021. Christoph Breitenstroeter was born in Germany, has an MBA and previously worked in various international and global functions in the Crop Science division of Bayer, including in the US, Germany and lastly for a couple of years in Basel.
