Muhammad Shafiq is the Chief Financial Officer for Bayer Middle East. A seasoned financial leader and Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with over 20+ years of professional experience.
In his current role, Shafiq is responsible for the financial and risk management of Bayer Group affairs including Pharma, Consumer Health, and Crop Science divisions. Apart from finance and Taxes, he is also responsible for oversight and administrative operations of several platform functions including Security, Facility, Event management, IT, Travel, Procurement and HSE operations.
He has consistently provided leadership in evaluating performance management and achieving financial objectives and Strategic planning. Shafiq adopts an empathetic leadership approach. His proactive mindset champions collaboration and focuses on continuous talent development (involving talent export) and retention. Shafiq has substantial experience in merger, acquisition, and divestment transactions, with a proven track record in strategy development and leading transformational projects, involving organizational restructuring.
In a career spanning almost two decades, he has also served in Bayer Pakistan in multiple roles across all 4 divisions. Before joining Bayer, he has also worked with PWC for 5 years in Karachi and Dubai office and has also served in a Tax consultancy firm in Karachi for 2 years.
