The company has offered a wide range of entertaining cultural activities ever since its early days. Bayer is now unique around the world in this respect.
Culture at Bayer has stood for quality entertainment and personal development for over a hundred years. As early as the beginning of the last century, a company orchestra was established (1901) along with a dedicated cultural department (1907), with the Erholungshaus in Leverkusen serving as a theater and concert hall.
Cultural affairs and the highly varied program of Bayer Arts and Culture are a key part of Bayer's corporate social responsibility. Cultural experiences also promote in particular qualities that are important to everyday life at our company: creativity, an interest in new things and openness toward unfamiliar situations.
Since 2021, Bayer Arts and Culture organizes an annual festival at its “home venue“ in Leverkusen and at further changing Bayer sites. The innovative program of the stARTfestival presents music and dance events with internationally acclaimed artists and the promising young talents of the stARTacademy, Bayer Arts and Culture's program for cultural sponsorship. The varied program of the Leverkusen Jazz Days at the Erholungshaus rounds out the Group's cultural activities. The modern and flexible rooms of the historic Erholungshaus are also available for rent for cultural events, conferences and corporate events.
