Pesce is a global expert on human rights, senior strategic advisor on human rights and responsible business conduct for the International Organization of Employers (IOE) and the former chair & member of the UN working group on Business and Human Rights. He brings a wealth of experience in academia and actively collaborated in the development of international standards such as for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) among others, and was responsible for the evaluation of the first 10 years of implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) as well as the UNGP10+ strategy.
