“Bayer” Clubs

As a life science company, Bayer has been actively engaged for over 120 years in the areas of sports, culture, art, and volunteer work. The supported clubs are involved around Bayer locations in children's and youth sports, as well as recreational and popular sports, parasports, and competitive sports, as well as in various cultural activities and hobbies.

The "Bayer" clubs offer a diverse and modern program that caters to the individual interests of athletes and makes a valuable contribution to social responsibility. The largest supported club, TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, has about 10,000 members. Bayer prioritizes the promotion of sports around its corporate locations, with a strong focus on engagement in parasports and responsible youth development. By supporting various sports activities, Bayer embraces its social responsibility, particularly in the realms of inclusion, diversity, and health, leading to positive impacts on society through its extensive sports initiatives. The "Bayer" clubs provide both competitive and recreational athletes with optimal training conditions, backed by outstanding infrastructure and skilled coaches. Key elements of many "Bayer" clubs' strategies and offerings include health promotion, youth development, childcare, collaborations with schools, volunteer involvement, and programs for non-members. The strong bond between the sports clubs and Bayer AG can be traced back to the early 20th century, reflected in the inclusion of the company name and the Bayer cross in the clubs’ emblems and sports apparel.

The sports clubs are traditionally closely linked to the Bayer AG and show this also by implementing the Bayer Cross on their sportswear.

Below is a list of clubs with links to their own websites.

In addition to its commitment to sports, Bayer is also active in the cultural sector.

Cultural Clubs

Cultural engagement has a long tradition at Bayer AG. Since 1907, the company has been dedicated to this area and continues to serve as an organizer and supporter at its locations.

Supporting several cultural associations, which have been independent since 2012, is an important aspect of Bayer AG's social commitment. At the Leverkusen site, for example, the Bayer Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bayer Wind Orchestra (websites in German) can look back on more than 100 years of existence. Both employees and non-employees develop their talents within these clubs.

The clubs are also an integral part of the stARTfestival. Bayer’s cultural department includes them in the program each year with their own concerts, providing exciting opportunities for encounters and further development.
