Julio Triana

Julio Triana has been a member of the Board of Management of Bayer AG since April 1, 2024, and he is President of the Consumer Health Division, headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. He is also responsible for the region Asia/Pacific.

 

Julio Triana was born on September 21, 1965, in Bogotá, Colombia. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry at the University of Houston, USA, followed by studies of Neuroscience at University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Madrid, Spain.

 

Julio Triana started his career as a research scientist before moving into consultancy at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1998. In 2002, he joined Bayer in Colombia as Head of Corporate Planning & Development and in the subsequent years, he embraced various management roles in finance and operations management at Bayer in Latin America, the US, and Europe across the Consumer Health and Pharmaceuticals divisions. In 2016, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer for Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals Division. In 2020, he became the Division’s Chief Transformation Officer and was appointed President of Bayer Yakuhin, Ltd., and Head of Pharmaceuticals Commercial Operations Japan & APAC in 2021. Since 2023, Julio Triana served as Head of Commercial Operations Region International at Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals Division and was the Senior Bayer Representative Japan and President of Bayer Holding, Ltd. Japan.

 

Julio Triana is married and has a son.
