Delaro fungicide now registered for cereals

  • The new registration delivers exceptional and long-lasting control of leaf diseases in cereals

Calgary, AB (April 3, 2019) – Today Bayer announced that Delaro® fungicide is now approved for use in cereals and will be available in Western Canada for the 2019 growing season. Already a trusted fungicide for peas, lentils, chickpeas and soybeans, the label expansion of Delaro provides cereal growers with exceptional and long-lasting control of foliar diseases.

“Since entering the Canadian market in 2014, Delaro has set high standards in pulse and soybean disease control,” says Troy Basaraba, Market Development Agronomist at Bayer. “The label expansion means this valuable tool is now able to give growers more of the same in cereals.”

Delaro combines two dynamic and complementary active ingredients, prothioconazole (Group 3) and trifloxystrobin (Group 11) for dual modes of action to provide quick and long lasting disease protection. In cereals, Delaro provides exceptional control of important foliar diseases including septoria leaf blotch, tan spot, rust species, net and spot blotch, scald and more.

For optimum control of labelled leaf and stem diseases, cereal growers should apply Delaro at early flag leaf, and before the head starts to emerge from the boot. A follow-up application with Prosaro® XTR fungicide is recommended at head timing for fusarium head-blight protection and comprehensive foliar disease management.
