Bayer recently received a Partner in Conservation Award from Pheasants Forever for its dedication to pollinator habitat and conservation education
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever recently honored Bayer with the Partner in Conservation Award at the 2025 National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic, held in Kansas City, Missouri. The award recognized Bayer’s long-term contributions to the organization’s pollinator programs.
“Protecting pollinators and promoting biodiversity is critical for our industry and our environment,” said Tim Fredricks, Ph.D., Bayer Environmental Engagement Manager. “Biodiversity and agriculture are intimately intertwined, so we recognize the need to be good stewards and to support programs that focus on preserving and enhancing wildlife and plants in the on-farm off-field agricultural landscape.”
Through the Bayer for Biodiversity initiative, Bayer is collaborating across the industry and with conservation organizations to create solutions to support wildlife and plant populations. These solutions include a long-term investment strategy into the wildlife and plant conservation programs and working with growers across the country to encourage best stewardship practices for their land.
“Farming is essential for us to feed the world, and we believe that conservation and productive agriculture can be compatible goals,” Tim added. “Working with organizations like Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever allows us to extend our reach and knowledge to make a direct impact in our local farming communities.”
Some key initiatives of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever that Bayer has supported since 2015 include:
- Pollinator Habitat Outreach Program. Bayer’s partnership with the Pollinator Habitat Outreach Program (PHOP) has been instrumental in expanding pollinator-friendly habitats across the United States. This program is designed to educate youth about the importance of pollinator habitats.
- Milkweed in the Classroom. Through the Milkweed in the Classroom program, Bayer has played a key role in providing schools with the resources that highlight the importance of pollinator habitat, including growing milkweed and native seeds within the classroom.
- National Pollinator Week. Bayer’s support of National Pollinator Week has been vital in raising public awareness about the challenges facing pollinators. Through this national celebration, Bayer has worked with Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever to spark conversations on the importance of protecting pollinators and the ecosystems they sustain.
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever make up the largest nonprofit organization in the United States dedicated to upland habitat conservation through habitat improvement, public access, education and advocacy.
