Alka-Seltzer Keeps Fans Saying Yes This Football Season!

Alka-Seltzer PLU

Alka-Seltzer is synonymous with relief and as we enter football season (also, cough/cold season and/or drinking occasions), the brand wanted to keep the entire portfolio top of mind for consumers looking for relief.

The new Masterbrand campaign, Monday Morning Quarterback, launched today on the newly merged Masterbrand Twitter Channel. From a cough stopping someone from attending a game or the thought of a hangover the morning after keeping them from cheering on the game-winning touchdown, Alka-Seltzer wants to be there for fans. To do so, they teamed up with Hall of Famer, Shannon Sharpe to be their Monday Morning Quarterback, and keep fans saying yes all season long.

Traditionally, a Monday Morning Quarterback is the person who criticizes you after an event. Now, Alka-Seltzer and Shannon Sharpe want to redefine what it means to be a MMQB and draft off the term widely used on Social to offer people support and relief on Monday morning with encouraging words and helpful solutions depending on their symptoms.

Starting Monday, October 31st, through December 12th, Alka-Seltzer will be hosting giveaways every Monday morning asking fans to tell the brand how they said yes over the weekend. Through community engagement, the Alka-Seltzer handle will respond to fans’ stories with Shannon Sharpe GIFs and hilarious responses, encouraging them to get relief and keep saying yes on Monday even if they feel down for the count.

Shannon has been a fan of Alka-Seltzer Plus since he played in Denver. He would take Alka-Seltzer Plus before games when he had a cold so he could play at his best. Now, he leads a life full of on-camera appearances and turns to Alka-Seltzer Hangover Relief when he’s had one too many the night before. If he’s under the weather with a cold, Alka-Seltzer Plus is still his go-to.
