Head of North America DT/IT
Curtis Scherder serves as a member of the North America Leadership Team as the North America DT/IT Regional Lead.
In this role, Curtis partners with teams across Commercial, Product Supply, DFS, and IT to lead digital transformation strategies that ensure implementation of our enterprise data and platform capabilities through initiatives including Customer Body of Work, Digital Farming and CORE. Curtis also leverages his existing relationships with the Infrastructure & Operations organization to provide business continuity and support for critical business operations.
Curtis has been a part of Bayer for 15 years. In his previous role as Digital Lead for Breeding in the R&D IT organization, he drove the digital transformation across Row Crop and Vegetable Breeding. Prior to joining the IT organization, Curtis spent 12 years in various roles within the Global Breeding organization driving product development for corn, soy, cotton and canola. He contributed to the development of SmartStaxPro, RR2XtendFlex and Bollgard 3 Thryvon during his time in Global Breeding.
Curtis has a PhD and a Masters in Plant Breeding from Iowa State University and dual Bachelor degrees in Biochemistry and Plant Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He and his wife, Christina, live in Lake St. Louis, MO with their children, Abigail and Mason. Curtis enjoys various hobbies in his free time. He is an avid runner (has finished 2 marathons), enjoys gardening in the summer and hunting back on his family farm in Missouri.
