Health for all

Whether it’s in dollars, volunteer hours, food and supplies, blood donations, or other in-kind giving, both Bayer and Bayer Fund care greatly about food, nutrition, and health-related endeavors in the community.

Our employees have walked to help raise funds for cancer and kidney disease research and patient services, made life-saving donations to the Blood Bank of Hawaii, volunteered for agencies addressing homelessness, and organized multiple food drives including a recent collection of nearly 2,000 pounds of nonperishable items for foodbanks on three islands.

Recently, several Hawaii nonprofits including the Hawaii Foodbank, Make-A-Wish Hawaii, HUGS, Maui Economic Opportunity, and St. Damien of Molokai, successfully applied for a Bayer Fund grant to support their health- and food-focused programs.

Hunger for none

Every day, Bayer works to provide solutions that can enable farmers worldwide to plant, grow and protect their harvests while using less land, water and energy.

In Hawaii, we take pride in advocating for the development of a robust and sustainable agriculture industry. In collaboration with the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation and Island Palm Communities, our company has played a vital role in the establishment of the Ag Park at Kunia. This initiative aims to promote economic self-sufficiency in local farms and enhance the production of food on the island. Our employees actively participate in various agricultural-related organizations, events, and activities. These include the Hawaii State Farm Fair, Maui AgFest, FFA student chapters, and Resource Conservation & Development Councils.

In the Community

Bayer is passionate about being a positive community contributor. Through donations and employee volunteerism, we are gratified to have interacted with a number of deeply dedicated nonprofits and charities. Some of our activities include helping with fundraisers and toy drives, honoring our veterans, promoting arts & culture, and supporting community fairs.

Among the most historically significant projects we’ve worked on is the creation of the Hono`uli`uli National Historic Site on Oahu, the result of a yearslong collaboration with community organizations like the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai`i. Today, we continue to cooperate with the National Park Service as it progresses on its plan to bring the historic site to full fruition.
