Bayer Hawaii Continues to Inspire Monarch Butterfly Awareness

Pearlridge Butterfly

Our Monarch Butterfly promotion for 2024 was a tremendous success thanks to our dedicated partnership with Sharing the Butterfly Experience and the enthusiastic participation of our community. This year marked our seventh annual event, and we were thrilled to see such a positive response at both the Maui Ag Fest and the Pearlridge live butterfly exhibit.

We talked to hundreds of people about Bayer’s initiatives in Hawaii, emphasizing the critical role monarch butterflies play in agriculture and our efforts to increase their population. We also shared insights into our sustainability initiatives and how we work to help preserve native habitats.

Attendees were excited to receive our fun Hawaii’s Farm to Table activity books, which provided an engaging way for children and families to learn about local agriculture.  Across both events, 50 lucky participants won mini butterfly habitat kits, with two live caterpillars, and crown flower plants, allowing them to raise their own monarch butterflies. This hands-on experience aimed to inspire a deeper appreciation for these essential pollinators.

This year’s efforts highlighted the importance Bayer tends to conversations and sustainability, reinforcing our commitment to protecting monarch butterflies and preserving Hawaii’s unique ecosystem. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Sharing the Butterfly Experience in 2025 and building on the success of this year’s events.
