COVID-19 Mitigation Program in Central Java

Central Java is one of the national food production centers in Indonesia, with agriculture contributing to the economy in Central Java by 14% and produced 5.5 million tons of rice or equal to 18% of national rice production in 2019. 75% of the farmers in Central Java is above 45 years old, the age range that is more prone to COVID-19 infection. PT Bayer Indonesia conducts mitigation program with COVID-19 public awareness and educational campaign, construction of 234 communal hand washing stations and disinfectant spray to agricultural input kiosks and farmers’ houses across 45 districts in Central Java. To date, 18,500 farmers and their families have benefited this assistance.
