Better Life Farming Program

There are at least two main challenges for smallholder farmers in doing their farm practices during COVID-19 pandemic:

  1. Difficulties to sell their produce since the collectors/traders have reduced their purchasing capacity or because of limited open hours in local markets. Therefore, farmers’ income has been reduced significantly and they have insufficient working capital to buy agricultural inputs for the next planting season.

  2. The supply chain for agricultural inputs is disrupted, causing farmers to have difficulties to get agricultural input at the right time.

With below activities:

  1. Increasing access to technology for smallholder farmers via Better Life Farmer package of crop protection products.

  2. Training on Good Agriculture Practices and stewardship training on safe use of pesticides.

  3. Enhancing farming skills and knowledge of female farmers through gender smart training program.

  4. Enhancing healthcare knowledge against COVID-19 and women’s health knowledge to female farmers.
