Bayer Indonesia strengthens its Commitment in Indonesia with Total Investment of IDR 1,6 Trillion
Bayer Indonesia has reaffirmed its commitment to support Indonesian’s government efforts to propel the country’s economic growth as well as to have a healthy society through its investments at its Cimanggis plant with total amount IDR 1.6 trillion.
Cimanggis, 4 September 2017 - At the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of its business presence in Indonesia, Bayer has expressed optimism about the country’s potential as a key player in the global healthcare industry.
The event held at its Cimmangis plant was graced by Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia; Maura Linda Sitanggang, representative of The Ministry of Republic of Indonesia, Hendrik Barkeling, Deputy Head of Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to Indonesia and other relevant stakeholders. This highlighted the importance for the government and the private sectors to have stronger strategic collaboration. Also present was Bayer Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Board Johannes Dietsch.

General Manager PT Bayer Indonesia Angel-Michael Evangelista said, “In total we have invested IDR 1.6 trillion in the past years, including new IDR 500 billion investments which will be disbursed over the course of the next two years. This is to enhance the quality and production capacity of the plant to fit global high-quality standards. Through our state-of-the-art facilities in Cimanggis plant, Bayer has managed to export 75% of its products to 30 countries.”
Cimanggis plant is one of Bayer Consumer Health’s seven production facilities that are strategically situated across the globe. Cimanggis plant was built on an area of 102,000 m2 and more than 18,000 m2, is used to produce health care products. Products from the Cimanggis plant are exported to countries such as Australia, Korea, as well as European countries where pharmaceutical regulations are stringent.
