The CEO of Bayer Nordic, which has its Northern Europe headquarters in Finland, will change. Christiane Temminghoff has been elected as the new CEO, starting in April. Miriam Holstein, who has led the Nordic region for more than four years, will move to Bayer Group's global headquarters in Germany.
Bayer, one of the world's leading Life Science company, has elected Christiane Temminghoff as the new CEO for its Nordic operations. She joins the Nordics from Bayer AG's Finance Department, where she has been responsible for Strategy, Organization and People Development. The current CEO for bayer Nordic, Miriam Holstein, has been appointed to position of Head of Corporate Office, reporting directly to the CEO of Bayer AG. She will relocate to Germany for the new role.
Last year, Bayer was Finland's largest corporate tax payer, with exports to more than 130 countries. At the same time, the company made significant progress in meeting its sustainability goals, digitizing the existing production facility in Turku and recruiting new staff. Bayer's Turku production plant is one of the most significant pharmaceutical production plants in the Bayer Group.
"At Bayer's headquarters in Germany, the Nordic region is known for its highly open, innovative and digital culture. I am very curious to experience this myself ", Christiane Temminghoff explains. As innovation rarely happens in silos and is often a result of collaboration, Temminghoff intends to continue building close co-operation between Bayer and various stakeholders in her new role.
"In my current role I have learned that fruitful collaboration is key to an innovative culture. I am very much looking forward to building upon the great foundation that has been laid in the Nordics and Finland", says Temminghoff.
Temminghoff will relocate to Finland and work in Bayer Nordic's headquarters in Espoo.

Holstein has held many honorary positions in Finland, for example in the Confederation of Finnish Industries, AmCham and the German-Finnish Chamber of Commerce.
"I am very proud of Bayer's role and importance in Finland. Over the past four years, I have also experienced the opportunity for a good dialogue with stakeholders and decision-makers in Finland, for which I am very grateful. It has been a pleasure to be involved in building the growth of both Bayer and the Finnish ecosystem", says Miriam Holstein.
"I tremendously enjoyed living and working in Finland, and I know for sure that I will miss the people and the culture. Finland continues to be close to my heart," Holstein continues.
