Bayer's links with China go back to 1882, when it first began marketing dyes on the Chinese market. In 1958, Bayer was registered in Hong Kong as an independent trading entity – known as Bayer Far East Service Co Ltd. Since then, it has become a significant investor in mainland China and Hong Kong SAR.
In Hong Kong, Bayer combines the business activities of the Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Health divisions.
