Bayer U.S. Chief Financial Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Asklepios Biopharmaceuticals Inc. (AskBio)

Guru serves as Bayer U.S. Chief Financial Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Asklepios Biopharmaceuticals Inc. (AskBio), an independently operated, fully owned subsidiary of Bayer. In his role, he oversees all financial and administrative operations for Bayer’s U.S. businesses, providing strategic direction and financial governance to support the businesses and drive growth in the U.S.

He has direct responsibility for the North America Finance Organization, including functional areas:  tax, treasury, accounting, central controlling, risk management, NA Real Estate & Facilities and Security (Americas), as well as in-country A-line responsibility for, procurement and Strategy & Business Consulting.  

Guru has been with Bayer for 22 years and his experience spans multiple disciplines and geographies, with expertise in FP&A, strategy, operations, mergers, restructuring, governance, and enterprise systems. Throughout his career, he has focused on shaping financial strategies and allocating resources to support growth and value creation. 

Prior to his role with AskBio, Guru held a number of leadership roles at Bayer, including serving as the Global Finance Lead for Global Oncology, CFO of the North American business at Bayer Consumer Health and CFO of Bayer Medical Care Division. Prior to that, he held various Finance roles in Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States.

Before joining Bayer, Guru held Accounting, audit and financial reporting roles at Siemens, Citibank and PWC India. Guru holds a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Xavier’s College in India, an Executive MBA from INSEAD in France, and is a certified Chartered and Cost Accountant.

Guru lives in New Jersey with his wife and two children. He is an avid cricket fan, loves listening to and playing music, and speaks five languages.
