Healthy Up! Run 2024

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has joined forces with Bayer Thai Co., Ltd. to organize the "Healthy Up! Run 2024" a health-focused event taking place on December 22, 2024 at Benchakitti Park in Bangkok. This initiative, held in honor of His Majesty the King’s 6th cycle birthday, aims to encourage the public to prioritize their health and well-being through both an engaging walk-run event and informative discussions. The event supports Bangkok’s 20-year development plan to establish a “Healthy City” and aligns with Bayer's mission of “Health for All, Hunger for None.” 

Fun run

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt, the Governor of Bangkok and Ms. Likki-Lee Pitzen, Head of the Department of Culture Section and Press at the Embassy of Germany, who delivered opening remarks, highlighting the importance of health initiatives in fostering community well-being. Also present was Mr. Bradley Williams, Managing Director of Bayer Thai Co., Ltd., providing welcome remarks, alongside Dr. Sunthorn Sunthornchart, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Dr. Lertlak Leelaruengsang, Director of the Medical Service Department, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Mr. Thai Peng Mak, Country Division Head of Bayer Consumer Health and Mr.Weraphon Charoenpanit, Country Commercial Lead of Bayer Crop Science, executives and employees from both organizations. A distinguished group of guests, and numerous participants, joined in the celebration. 

Women

The "Healthy Up! Run 2024" event is part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the BMA and Bayer Thailand, aimed at promoting good health among the Thai population while raising awareness about endometriosis. The event also featured a discussion titled “Healthy Up! Talk,” which focused on abdominal pain and endometriosis. Esteemed medical professionals, including Dr. Sawitree Suvikrom, from Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital, and Dr. Paneeya Sutabutra, Country Medical Director of Bayer Thai Co., Ltd., led the session to educate attendees about endometriosis, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment.

Recently, Bangkok has been awarded as a Healthy City among other 4 cities in Thailand and 11 cities in Southeast Asia Region from World Health Organization (WHO). This will enhance the environment that promote good health, community management, and respond to public health needs, and essential services to the people, particularly vulnerable groups.

Participants also gained valuable insights and practical tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle throughout the event.
