Bayer unveils New Inspection & Quality Control Building in Phitsanulok

The new facility will feature state-of-the-art seed testing capabilities for corn and vegetable seeds, enabling Bayer Thai to provide high-quality, disease-free seeds to farmers for both domestic and international markets.

Phitsanulok, Thailand September 17, 2024 – Mr. Phusit Somchit, Governor of Phitsanulok Province, and Ms. Chortip Salyapongse, Director of the Plant Protection Research and Development Office (PPRD) at the Department of Agriculture, recently presided over the opening ceremony of Bayer's new Inspection & Quality Control Building for Bayer’s Vegetable and Corn Seed Production in Phitsanulok.
 

The event, held on September 17, 2024, was attended by local government officials, including Ms. Nongyao Korkanruad, Director of BOI Area 7 (Phitsanulok), Ms. Papassorn Wattanakulpakin, Director of the Phitsanulok Seed Research and Development Center, along with Mr. Weraphon Charoenpanit, Country Commercial Lead for Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar at Bayer Thai Co., Ltd., Bangla Bose, Head of APAC Product Supply, and Mr. Mark Nash, Vegetable Seeds Product Supply Tomato Crop Family Lead, as well as some Bayer employees.

Since 2000, Bayer Thai Co., Ltd. has been a major player in Thailand's corn and vegetable seed production industry, with production centers in Phitsanulok, Khon Kaen, and Sakon Nakhon. The company is expanding its presence with the establishment of a new Inspection & Quality Control Building, a significant investment of 138 million THB. The Department of Agriculture has recognized Bayer Thai as an Accredited Seed Test Laboratory, certifying it as a qualified facility for issuing phytosanitary certificates. This certification ensures that plant and plant products exported from Thailand are free from pests and diseases, meeting the import requirements of various countries and regions.
