Bayer Thai Receives the 2023 AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Award
AMCHAM Social Impact Award

21 November 2023 - Bayer Thai Co., Ltd has been awarded the "Corporate Social Impact Award 2023" (Gold level) from The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM), for the fifth consecutive year. This award reaffirms the company's commitment to operating in a socially responsible and sustainable manner.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand awarded the Corporate Social Impact Awards to 98 companies that have contributed to society and the environment in Thailand. The AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Awards formerly known as the AMCHAM CSR Excellence Awards, has been the cornerstone of corporate social responsibility in Thailand for over 15 years, raising the bar for CSR practices in Thailand.

Bayer is committed to continuous social engagement by partnering with non-profit organizations to drive positive change and development in Thailand. The company's social engagement activities support its mission of "Health for all, Hunger for none."

One of the company's most important activities is the Better Science for Better Life project. Bayer has been working with the National Science Museum (NSM) since 2020 to produce science education materials and deliver them to 300 schools nationwide. The project has benefited over 3,000 people between 2020 and 2023.

After three years of implementation, the project team has developed a second phase for the project between 2025 and 2026 under the concept of "Plant Ranger”. The project focuses on science and plants (Science Behind Plant) and targets children in elementary school aged 10-12 years old. Schools were given the Plant Ranger toolkit. The goal is to help young people learn about the relationship between science and plants and the importance of plant conservation. With a better understanding, children can learn about plant science in a more meaningful and engaging way. The project will also help teachers to develop their skills in using the learning materials for teaching.

In addition, Bayer is also implementing sustainability projects to reduce the environmental impact of its operations. The company has installed solar panels on the roof of its row crop seed production site in Phitsanulok covering 50% of the site's roof space. The solar panels can generate 600 kilowatts of electricity for the site's operations. This solar power will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20%, equivalent to 371 tons of carbon dioxide per year, or the equivalent of planting about 190,000 mangrove trees plantation.
